April 2019 Monthly Meeting

Why do native plants matter in our gardens and landscapes? In addition to providing shelter and food for birds, butterflies and other wildlife, native plants require far less maintenance, saving time, money, and perhaps the most valuable natural resource, water. On April 15 at 7pm, Horticulturist and Master Gardener Barbara Dorfman will share how to incorporate native plants into your site design presenting “Designing a Garden with Native Plants”.  She is an active member of the Georgia Native Plant Society and is passionate about promoting the use of native plants in the home landscape.  In this presentation, Barbara will share images of her own beautiful yard and offer ways to incorporate native plants into your overall design whether you envision incorporating a few plants or a complete makeover. The Gwinnett County Master Gardeners’ Association is hosting this presentation at the Bethesda Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044. Bring a covered dish to share and join us for dinner at 6:30, or just come for the program beginning promptly at 7PM.
